Building Community Partnerships in a Common Reading Program

Pamela Annette Hayes-Bohanan

Bridgewater, Massachusetts began its One Book One Community Reading program in 2005 with a steering committee comprised of members from a number of local organizations and the public library. When funding cuts drastically reduced the Bridgewater Public Libraryâs hours and staffing levels in 2008, it had to withdraw from the program. The program is still in existence due to the dedication of the members of the steering committee.
